Health and a New Kitchen
Hi all,
We are thankful for good health since I wrote last. Tonny, Faith, and all the kids are doing very well. Not one has gone to bed hungry, and you are to thank. This seems like such a simple task in our land of plenty, but for them it is not.
Innocent, the young man who TB kept under the weather for so long, is still on the mend. He is on meds and will be for a spell yet. After that he is functioning on his own and gaining strength.
A single donation allowed us to make another step in our aim for a permanent residence for the kids. We’ve broke ground on a kitchen, a separate structure from the house, used for cooking since their source of heat for the task is charcoal. (Mass particulate inhalation takes millions of lives a year in developing countries. This charcoal is poorly made from agriculture wastes, like wheat chaff and corn husks.)
A couple of years ago, I asked Tonny about a stove. He told me that Faith mentioned buying a stove when they first married. He told her they were not in the class of people.
I think that exchange says it all.
We will post pictures on the MtM Face Book page as the kitchen progresses, and I’ll include in the next blog post.
Thank you for your support. Pray for us and our kids and their caretakers.
God Bless.
